A COLLECTION OF ART, DESIGN AND THOUGHT
FROM INDEPENDENT STORYTELLERS
WELCOME TO WINSTON PARK
We are creative futurists on a journey to share our voices, and encourage people to rethink creativity, its use, who it belongs to, how we see ourselves, and how it can impact our environment.
THE WHY
They said we were not good designers, would never make it as artists, and even doubted our place in the creative world. But here’s the truth, the world’s greatest visionaries were told the same.
This is the space—where makers, designers, and thinkers can break free and create with total control. We are independent artists focused on ownership, sharing our voices, understanding its impact, and striving to improve things.
This is for the relentless who transforms doubt into masterpieces.

WHAT WE DO
We are graphic designers, digital painters, illustrators, and photographers. We use each medium to tell stories of the human experience.
STORIES
You Deserve To Be Creative
Everyone, no matter where they are in life, wants to live their dream.
And we believe everyone deserves it. Creativity is how we get to those dreams. And creativity isn't reserved for a select few. Though we’ve been in the industry for over 20 years, this journey is new. We remind ourselves that we deserve to have full creative control as well.
Our mission is to democratize creativity, making it accessible, inclusive, and
inspiring for everyone. The power of diverse perspectives and unique voices
will reshape the world around us and we celebrate the idea that creativity knows no boundaries and together, we’ll redefine what's possible because.
Every human is a creative!
ABOUT
Joe “BELOW THE...” Brim
Creativity seems to be one of the major human components under attack. Or is it becoming more and more accessible? We can participate in a new future and express ourselves in ways that allow us and others to unlock our creative capabilities.
Joe Brim, is a Creative Director, artist, speaker, and owner of BELOW THE BRIM, LLC. Born and raised in Winston Salem, NC, Joe can’t remember a day when he wasn’t creating. As a graduate from the Ohio State University, Joe’s first design career started in a Fortune 500 financial services org, where he created four career roles, started their employment brand, helped launch its communication team, and led a team of volunteers to launch their career website. That company was Discover.
An avid, learner and doer, Joe has received certification in Design Thinking, co-created the Future of Fashion internship, on the board member of the Columbus Fashion Alliance, and co-creator of the Breaking Bread Network, and provided creative direction for a few fashion initiatives with cultural tastemakers across the nation, Joe strongly believes there’s an opportunity to change the narrative, protect creativity, and build markets.
Chris “SumArt” Summey
Christopher Summey is a creative who lives and works in Columbus, Ohio. Growing up in North Carolina, he developed a passion for art at a young age, mimicking the covers of comic books using a ballpoint pen while listening to songs on vinyl.
Studying different creative disciplines, Summey’s work is a hybrid of design, illustration, and photography that explores the relationship between expression and function. He is particularly interested in the interplay between digital and organic, moving pixels to create light and shadows, the discipline of photography to capture portraiture, and the purpose design brings to go beyond aesthetics.
In addition to Christopher’s creative practice, he is an educator in the Art, Design, & Media department at Columbus State Community College. Being a strong advocate for art education, he believes that everyone should have access to the transformative power of art.
Christopher continues to explore and create across the U.S., where his curiosity will push him to understand what it means to be an artist in this time, and the impact his voice will make in the culture and in the art world.
